OUR LIST OF DEMANDS

  • Dear All,

Here's what we are looking for from the Prime Minister. 

Please Note that this list will be finalised on Tuesday, 9th Dec 08, after we have a joint group meeting. 

India Demands

 

1.      Immediate security to be tightened and reinforced in Mumbai and other Metro's.

·       A single anti terror federal agency with a significant presence in each city with capabilities for rapid response and the best equipment money can buy.

·       Establish Crisis management cell's in each and every city.

2.      Resolve and realign India's security infrastructure.

  •                  Invest in reinforcing the security across India's coastline.
  •                  Give us an accountability of budget allotted for coastline security.

3.      Destroy Internal & External Terror Support Network  

·       Internal Elements/known suspects/peripherally suspected/passive helpers, residing in any part of India, supporting terror activities should be dealt with very severely.

·       All known training camps and All known terror suspects hiding out openly in neighboring countries should be flushed out by mounting unprecedented global pressure on their governments.

4.      Revise and implement the 6th Pay Commission for the police and the Armed forces.

·       The salaries of the police and the Armed forces should be on par with the corporate sector.

·       Reforms to be implemented.

·       Police force of all states to be better equipped, trained

·       Most advanced surveillance systems to be deployed nationwide on a scale that will by itself act as a deterrent.

5.      Tough Anti-Terror law with a fast track judicial system.

·       We kept Maulana Masood Azar in our jails for six years and eventually released him to free the Kandahar hostages.

6.      Every act of public violence to be made into a non-bailable offence.

·       This would immedietly help in putting a check on parties such as MNS, RSS, Bajrang Dal and VHP.

7.      Strictly enforce a law wherein any individual with a criminal record or criminal history cannot contest elections or hold any public office.

·       Use the RTI act and demand that we – the ordinary citizens are informed about the Criminal records/bio data/ bank balance & assets/ net worth of all candidates who wish to stand for elections.

·       Retirement age of politicians to be on par with Civil services.

8.      Legalise a citizen's surveillance cell which can work in tandem with the police and the government security agencies at the local and state levels.

9.      Insist that every young boy/girl who reaches the age of 18 gets one year training in armed forces.

10.      Directly elected Mayor in every metro city of India on the lines of New York, London and Shanghai.

·       The Mayor will act as the head of government of the city and head all local organisations like BMC.

11.      A committee of ordinary citizens to be recognised by the Government that will oversee the implementation of the above demands within the time frame promised by the government.

·       This committee can be headed by prominent citizens of India.

·       The government will be accountable to this committee for all its actions.

                ·       This committee will be directly elected by the people of India.

hey, this is the most childish and immature way of protesting. ur demands are not any new. even the govt has already promised to do the same. nothing more is added by u. I understand ur anguish and anger and i too share it. ..I only wish u had such an outrage when the poor died of bomb blasts in the recent blasts.. it appears a gimmick to hog lime light. Nothing more

Hi, It's strange that people are quick to criticize if someone wants to talk against the Government and people also criticize if they don't. Have you Mr.Sunil Kumar ever raised your voice against the Government's incompetency ever in your life? Have you? Ever? It does not matter whether you did it after the poor or the elite died, but the question is have you ever? It's a shame that millions have the exact same attitude as you which reflects on the state of affairs today. It would be healthier to have criticised by providing an alternative solution too. You don't seem to have one by the sounds of it... that then gives you no right to reject the one proposed either. Makes sense to you? Cheerio.
